About the Achaemenid Empire

The Achaemenid Empire, also known as the First Persian Empire, was a major ancient Iranian dynasty that existed from 559 to 330 BC.

Founded by Cyrus II, commonly referred to as Cyrus the Great, this empire became one of the largest empires of the ancient world, stretching across three continents: Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Achaemenian or Achaemenid?

While both terms are correct, Achaemenid is more widely used, whereas Achaemenian is primarily used as an adjective to describe things related to the dynasty, such as its art, architecture, or culture (e.g. "Achaemenian reliefs" or "Achaemenian inscriptions").
