In other words:
Map of the Traites (Customs Duty)
France, regarding the traites, is divided into three main sections:
1 The five large Farms General, in white
2 Provinces considered foreign provinces, in green
3 Provinces considered secondary foreign provinces, in red*
The black points that divide the three sections, and those that
are in the
district of the foreign provinces, indicate the dividing lines
where traites are levied.
*
"Provinces a l'instar de l'Etranger efféctif" - Provinces
into which foreign merchandise can enter freely, but French products
are taxed.
