Ochakov after a six months siege.
On July 30, 1789, Russia defeated the Turks in the
Battle of Focsani.
On September
22, 1789, Russia and Austria defeated the Turks at the Battle of
Rimnik.

23, 1789, Russia defeated the Turks at the Battle of Martinesti.
Shortly after, the Russians took the
fortress at Bender.
On October 9, 1789, Austrian general
Gideon Ernest von Laudon took
Belgrade.
One of the Austrian commanders in this war was
Frederick Josias of Saxe-Coburg.
One of the Russian commanders was
Aleksandr
Suvorov.
