Livy 59(?)-17 BC
Livy's Latin name was Titus Livius. He was a Roman historian
and reported on Rome's history in 142 books.
Unlike most of the other
Roman historians, Livy was not involved in Rome's
politics. Many historians feel that this fact gave Livy the necessary
distance to his subject material.
