John Kerry (born 1943)
John Forbes Kerry was born in Aurora, Colorado.
His family moved to Massachusetts shortly thereafter. John Kerry
would eventually become U.S. Senator for Massachusetts.
In 1966, John Kerry graduated from Yale
University.
From 1966 to 1970, Kerry served in the
U.S. Navy, which included deployment in the
Vietnam War.
Kerry became spokesman for the VVAW,
which stands for the Vietnam Veterans Against the War, a
national veterans' organization founded in NYC in 1967 after six
Vietnam vets marched together in a peace demonstration.
On April 22, 1971, John Kerry, as
representative of the VVAW, delivered his testimony before the
Senate Committee of Foreign Relations. This Committee was
founded in 1816 and has played a vital role in shaping U.S. foreign
policy.

In 2009, John Kerry became Chairman of
the Foreign Relations Committee.
Elections 2004
In 2004, John Kerry was the Democratic Party's presidential
candidate, highly recommended by Barack Obama in his
Keynote Address at the DNC in Boston.
But
George W. Bush
won his second term with 51 to 48 percent of the votes.
