Leopold II 1747-1792
Leopold II was Holy Roman emperor
from 1790 until his death in 1792.
Not to be confused with the
Belgian King Leopold II, who reigned as such from 1865 until
1909.

In 1790, Leopold
would succeed Joseph to the throne as Holy Roman
Emperor Leopold II.

Leopold was a member of the
Habsburg Dynasty.
His mother was
Maria Theresa.

In 1791, Leopold signed the
Declaration of Pillnitz.
On February 7, 1792, Leopold II
signed an alliance with Prussia, signed by
Frederick
William II against France.
Upon Leopold's sudden death on March
1, 1792,
his son
Francis followed him to the
throne.
