When Did the War of the Fourth Coalition Begin? When Did it End?

The War of the Fourth Coalition begun on October 8, 1806, and ended with the  Treaty of Tilsit on July 9, 1807.

The War of the Fourth Coalition Builds

On December 26, 1805, the War of the Third Coalition had been concluded with the  Treaty of Pressburg.

On August 6, 1806, Emperor Francis II gave up his title as Holy Roman Emperor. He remained the Emperor of Austria, the King of Hungary, and the King of Bohemia.

On September 25, 1806, Prussia sends an ultimatum to France. The Prussians demand, among other things, that all French troops east of the Rhine River had to be withdrawn immediately. An answer was expected by October 8, 1806, or else.

This ultimatum reaches Paris on October 1, 1806.

Napoleon, who had left Paris on September 25, 1806, to join his army in Bavaria, received this ultimatum on October 7, 1806.
