Frederick I Barbarossa 1123-1190
Frederick was a German king and the
Holy Roman
emperor from 1152 to 1190. His nickname Barbarossa is Italian and
means Redbeard.
The main pain in
Fred's neck was
the
Lombard
League in northern Italy, which he fought 1154 - 1183.
