Titus served as military commander under his father, the Roman emperor
Vespasian, and in this capacity
Titus became the conqueror of
Jerusalem in September of AD 70.
Titus was the Roman emperor from
79 to 81.
He died on September 13, 81.
Titus' brother
Domitian, who might or
might not have helped Titus onto his trip to the next world,
became emperor after his death.
In any event, Domitian was the
one who erected the Arch of Titus, commemorating his
brother's victory over the Jews and the thorough destruction
of Jerusalem.
