This treaty ended the
War of the Grand Alliance.
The Treaty of Rijswijk was discussed, concluded, and signed
September 20 - 21, and October 30, 1697, at Nieuwburg Castle,
located in the town of Rijswijk, the Netherlands.

many other arrangements, Spain ceded the western third of
Hispaniola to France, which named it Saint-Domingue.
