Granicus
Granicus is the ancient name of the
river Kocabas. The river is located in northwestern Turkey and flows
into the Sea of Marmara.
In the year 334 BC,
Alexander the Great and
Darius III, together
with their respective armies, met at the opposite banks of this
river.
