Syracuse is Siracusa if
you are Italian.
The city of Syracuse is located on the
east coast of Sicily.
Back in the days,
Carthage kept knocking on the city
gates.
Dionysius I the Elder became the hero of the day as well as
Syracuse's tyrant.
The years? 405-367 BC.
From 317 to 289 BC,
Agathocles was tyrant
of Syracuse. He carried on repeated wars with the Carthaginians; in
the course of which (311) he invaded Africa, and reduced the
Carthaginians to great distress.
