Aesop (Mid-6th century BC)
Aesop might or might not have existed.
Whatever the truth, he is
credited with authoring a bunch of Greek fables.
Aesop's stories were brief and
almost always featured animals and
drove home a moral message. They proved to be an
inspiration for everybody, including Disney.
Here is Aesop's impact on our
daily life:
The word fable stems from
the Latin word fabula, meaning falsehood, lie,
pretense and from the Latin word fabula meaning
story, play, narrative, tale.

What's with the Fox and the
Grapes?
The Fox and the Grapes
A famished fox
saw some clusters of ripe black grapes
hanging from a trellised vine.
She resorted
to all her tricks to get at them, but
wearied herself in vain, for she could not
reach them.
At last she
turned away, hiding her disappointment and
saying:
"The grapes
are sour, and not ripe as I thought."
Moral: One
often despises what one cannot have.
