Treaty of Värälä 1790
The Treaty of Värälä, signed on August
14, 1790, settled the
Russo-Swedish War, which was fought
from 1788 until 1790.
Russia and Sweden agreed to keep their
borders the way they had been before Sweden started the war.
Gustaf Armfelt was the head
negotiator for Team Sweden.
The pre-war borders, by the way, had been agreed on
in 1743 and had been put on record as the
Treaty of Åbo.
