Harold II was also called Harold
Godwineson or Harold Godwinson, because his father was
Godwine, the earl of Wessex and Kent.
Harold and two of his brothers died at the
Battle of Hastings because his enemy was
the 1066 heavyweight
champion
William the Conqueror.
