Sun Yat-sen 1866-1925
Sun Yat-sen was a doctor (Hong Kong medical school, 1892.) His folks
were farmers.
The revolution of 1911, also called the
Chinese Revolution, or the Wuchang Uprising, ended the Ch'ing dynasty and established the Republic of China.
In December 1911, Sun Yat-sen became the
first provisional president of the Republic of China for the
duration of three months.
Sun Yat-sen became the head of the Chinese Nationalist Party
(Kuomintang.)
He was again leader of his country 1923
- 1925.
Sun Yat-sen died on March 12, 1925, in
Peking, where he had arrived for talks with the generals.
Chiang Kai-shek
became Sun Yat-sen's successor.
