On April 17, 1961, they landed in
various spots along Cuba's coast, but mainly at the Bahía de los
Cochinos, or the Bay of Pigs.
By April 19, 1961, Fidel Castro had killed 300 men and locked up the

In exchange for a hefty
ransom, the prisoners were returned to the US over the next four
years.
