A member of the
Carolingians, Charles was king of France 893 - 922.
Charles' father was
Louis II the
Stammerer. Charles' brothers were
Carloman
and
Louis
III.
Charles had a bad year in 922 when the
nobles were fed up with him as a king and elected
Robert
king instead.
Charles killed Robert in battle but was taken prisoner
by Herbert. Herbert was the count of Vermandois.
