Dionysius of Halicarnassus c. 60 -
10 BC
Dionysius, or Dionysios, was a Greek historian who wrote on
the history of Rome in 20 books.
Regarding the origin of the
Etruscans,
Dionysius disagreed with historian
Herodotus, who favored the theory that they had moved into
the region from what is today's Turkey. Instead, Dionysius was of
the opinion that the Etruscans had been local people all along.
