Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa 63-12 BC
Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa was a good friend of Octavian, who later became
Roman Emperor Augustus,
one of his most trusted officers and later even his son-in-law.
After Marcus helped Octavian win the
Battle of Actium in 31 BC against
Mark Antony, the people of Athens were in the doghouse
because they had supported Mark Antony.
Marcus negotiated with Octavian on
behalf of Athens, which made the people of Athens so happy that they
built him a temple on their Acropolis.
