Nero's real name was Lucius.
When he was in trouble, his mother called him by his full
name, Lucius Domitius
Ahenobarbus.
Nero was Roman emperor number five.
His years of reign were 54 until 68.
In 64, the first persecution of the
Christians took place, at Rome under Nero.
Nero's palace in Rome was the Domus
Aurea, which is translated the House of Gold. He built
this house in the newly available space, which was created by the
great fire of AD 64. Gossip had it that Nero was the one who lit the
