Simonides of Ceos 556-468 BC
Simonides of Ceos was from Ceos, which
is now Kea (Kéa), Greece. His strong suit was writing poetry, but he
didn't limit himself to that category.
Among other things, Simonides wrote on
the
Battle of Plataea.
