Charles VI 1685-1740
Charles, a member of the
Habsburg family, was born and died in beautiful
Vienna. He was crowned Holy Roman emperor in 1711.
Charles VI was also
Charles III, and as such the
archduke of Austria and the king of Hungary.
Charles fought the
War of the Spanish Succession and signed the
Treaty of
Rastatt.
Charles composed the
Pragmatic Sanction. His famous daughter was
Maria Theresa.
