Note
The treaty of Bretigni
(Treaty of Brétigny) was made in 1360 between Edward III and
King John of France.
After it Edward lost the actual possession of nearly the whole
South of France, but he
never gave up his pretensions to the Sovereignty of
Guienne
and Gascony.
